Yes! It's interesting bc you see the trauma... they were broken from the "Portuguese" aka the hiding hands behind those invaders as you know.... i wonder what their coming of age "rights" are that are mentioned. is it circumcision part of it? There is definately something sad in the film but maybe it's just the fact that they are being filmed. because at the end you send them smiling and naturally radiant. but, so many ancient cultures have been broken by the eveeolz of invaders.... and, it's sad, too, bc at the end the film speaks about how the youth don't want to honor their elders and want to live like the rest of our world... they dn't know what they'll be missing. but, their life does seem to be missing some joy??? i don't know. like i said, could be the fact that they are being filming and not comfortable completetely. they still have their beautiful dancing celebrations. I see their food contains a lot of rice and not that much fish in the dishes that are shown here. i am sure they ate 100% fish before and zero rice for 1000s of years.... What do you think? i look forward to hearing! Big hugs!
Dear sister - I have not had a chance to watch it yet but I feel I must. Thank you for sharing your own feelings and insights about the film. I am hoping to watch it by this weekend.
Cool - looking forward to watching this one! Tx.
